The Arcadia (Arkadia) pattern was designed in 1938 to celebrate the 175th anniversary of KPM (Königliche Porzellan-Manufaktur) also known as Royal Berlin. The famous Bauhaus designer Trude Petri designed the basic pattern form. The cameo medallions featured throughout the multi motif pattern were designed in collaboration with Siegmund Schutz. The pattern exist in a number of variations. This version features burnished, flat matte finished gold rims on fine translucent porcelain featuring fine, raised, cameo medallions. Offered here is a saucer. There is no cup. The medallion is a cameo of a shell. The saucer is 6 1/2" in diameter. It features the sceptre and KPM factory marks as shown which indicates that it was decorated at the factory. It is in excellent condition with no cracks, chips, crazing. There are minor rub marks to the matte finished gold from placing the cup on/off the saucer repeatedly. Please enlarge the photos of the gold rims for the best view. This is a very rare, discontinued version of this pattern. Please e-mail us if you have any questions. We have been in business for 30 years. Your satisfaction is guaranteed.
