This delightful Scottish sterling ladle was produced by James McKay in Edinburgh, Scotland circa 1838. It is approximately 6” long and has a 1 3/4” round bowl with a 1/4” deep rim. It is in beautiful condition with a even patina that comes from gentle use and polishing. There are no dings, dents, deep scratches, or other signs of excessive use. It has never been monogrammed. It is hallmarked as shown with the appropriate three castles, thistle, date code, and sovereign’s head. It has the JMc mark shown. The ladle weighs 1.3 troy oz.
