Saint Cloud is a breathtaking pattern designed by Walter Wilkinson in 1885. The pattern is named for the Chateau de Saint-Cloud in France which was purchased by King Louis XVI for Marie-Louise in 1785. There are numerous similar styles of forks in this pattern designated as fish and/or salad forks with different lengths and tine designs. This fork is 6 5/8” long when measured tines down on a ruler. The center tines are offset from the outer tines. Please compare your forks carefully if you are trying to match pieces. The fork has a nice even patina associated with careful use and gentle polishing. It has not been machine buffed. There are no dings, dents, repairs, or excessive signs of use. It is marked with the 1885 patent mark and also has the Gorham lion, anchor and G hall mark as shown. It has a fancy L mono on the back of the handle.
