Pink Cockatrice was produced by Minton for almost 100 years. The pattern first appeared in 1851 and was discontinued in 1950. The Globe mark on this plate without the wreath was used from 1873 until 1912. The pattern code 9646 for this plate is marked on the reverse as shown. The enamel work on this antique version of this pattern is exceptional. The plate is 10 1/8” in diameter and is in excellent condition with no cracks, chips, or excessive signs of use. Note, however, there is a spot on the rim where a small area of the border design is missing as shown in the third photo. This occurred at the time of production. It does not seriously detract from the beauty of this plate but has been taken into consideration when pricing. If you are trying to match pieces it is best to look for the 9646 factory mark and measure your plates since there are a number of different sizes of plates. There is also a scalloped version of this pattern. This plate is smooth. One large matching service charges over $100 for this plate. We also have Green Cockatrice plates available. We combine postage and only charge what it costs us to ship. Please email us if you have any questions. We have been in business for thirty years. Your satisfaction is guaranteed.
