Our research of Shumann factory marks indicates that this piece of Schumann "Empress Dresden Flowers" china was produced between 1954-1960. In addition to the Schumann factory mark it has the Ebeling & Reuss (E&R) gold crown mark. E&R was an importer in Philadelphia with the exclusive rights to import Schumann china. The pattern is referred to as "Empress Dresden Flowers" because of its scalloped edge. It is very similar to "Old Dresden Flowers" which was the same pattern produced earlier on a smooth edge blank. It is a multi-motiff pattern with different floral bouquets in the center of the plate. This one features a purple and yellow iris. The dinner plate is 7 5/8" in diameter. It is is excellent condition with no cracks, chips, or crazing. There are no utensil marks. The plate was used sparingly if at all. Price is for one but you can purchase up to the number remaining.
