Here is a ring for a movie star or anyone with star power! This perfectly gorgeous natural deep salmon colored tourmaline is nestled between a stunning combination of round brilliant diamonds and tiny square cut sapphires. The perfect c.1930-1940's ring is a gemologist's dream. The tourmaline is 19.17 mm by 15.4 mm and is estimated to be 21.73 carats in weight. After testing, I believe it may actually be an Elbaite or Dravite Tourmaline. Being a tourmaline, it does have a slightly different shade of color in different directions. The very slightly orange-reddish color predominates, which is why it is described as being a salmon color.
The handmade mounting of 14 karat white gold is nicely detailed. The gold is unmarked but acid tested for purity. The six transitional cut diamonds are 3 mm each, plus smaller ones on the shoulders, give a total diamond weight of .66 carats. The 8 sapphires are mounted closely together in a space that is 1.5 mm. by 3 mm. The entire ring weighs 11.0 grams.
The ring is currently a size 6 1/2 and may be resized.
