This is one of the prettiest ballerina style rings I have seen! The undulating, ruffled "skirt" and delicate hand engraved detail around the sapphire make it very special.
Circa 1950-60's, the handmade platinum wire mounting holds a vivid bright blue natural sapphire with perfect blue color. It has an estimated carat weight of 1.05 cts. and is 6.75 mm in diameter.
The 24 tapered baguette diamonds are very white and clean and weigh an estimated 1.20 cts. they are graded as E-F, VS1-2.
The ring is currently a size 6 but fits a 6.25 very comfortably, due to the open style of the mounting. It is unmarked but acid tested for platinum. The diameter of the ring is a substantial 5/8" and weighs 9.1 grams. This ring will be noticed!
