This highly collectible, vintage 1960s, Mexican modern, hinged sterling silver bangle bracelet features exceedingly heavy sterling silver formed into an oval shape and patterned extensively with geometric cutouts interspersed with green stone mosaic Inlay. A Taxco treasure by master Mexican silversmith, Miguel Melendez.
Designer: Miguel Melendez, an apprentice to the renowned William Spratling and workshop manager for the great Margot de Taxco before pursuing his own endeavors.
Period: 1950s -1960s.
Weight: 69.1 grams.
Marks: The trademark lower case m encircled by a letter c ; "TAXCO;" "STERLING;" and an eagle stamp with the number 3.
Condition: Excellent with age appropriate light surface scuffs from respectful wear.
Dimensions: 6 3/4" in circumference (designed for a smaller wrist) includes a secure tongue and box clasp closure with a safety chain. 3/4" height (measurement from top to bottom) x 2 5/8" length (measurement from left to right) x 2 1/4" width (measurement from front to back).
