Very Art Nouveau in style, with its flowers and trailing vines and asymmetric shape, this little box is perfect for putting a ring, or small earrings in. Makes a marvelous presentation box for a gift. Probably made of gilt spelter, these were very popular during the Belle Epoque, and came in all shapes and sizes. The inside of the lid has a nice shell motif, which is unusual. No damage to note; in better than usual condition for something 120 years old. In reference books, these are valued at $95, but that seems a little too dear, so I have priced it down at less than half.
Size is 1 3/4" tall x 2 1/4" wide, by 1 1/2"
Très charmante, n'est-ce pas?
