This dress clip is marked with the patent number (1801128) dating the piece to the 1930s, a time when clips were very popular worn as brooches. Our clip is a good size 2 ¼ inches by 1 ¾ inches. Weight is 21 grams. There are tiny prongs that would have securely held the clips on a lady’s dress. The hinge is still tight and works well. The design appears to be Etruscan revival and the metal is a gold wash over white metal.
