For your consideration is a spectacular large antique Japanese Meiji Satsuma hand painted porcelain brooch dating to Meiji Period. The high quality brooch features a floral motif with beautifully painted lavender irises, dainty blue flowers and leaves. The workmanship is highly impressive displaying intricate and fine detail. On the back, it has a silver gilt finish and a hallmark or stamp mark. The clasp is a rollover. It measures approx. 2 1/4" length and 1 3/4" width. It has aged patina and the porcelain has some fine crackling. The condition of this item is very good having wear commensurate with age.
