Vintage Large European Hand Carved Wood Sculpture Of Virgin Mary And Jesus With A Scepter, Christian Art, 14"

Presented is a magnificent large European CHRISTIAN ART hand carved wood sculpture dating to the 20th century. The superb and impressive sculpture features the Madonna- the Virgin Mary holding baby Jesus and a scepter in her hand. The workmanship is excellent displaying fine detail and intricate carvings. The type of wood appears to be olive wood. The approximate date of this item would be the 1930's 1940's. The place of origin would be European and, most likely, Italy or the Bethlehem region. It measures approx. 14" height and 7 7/8" wide. The base measures approx. 4 7/8" length and 3 3/8" width.
The condition of the religious sculpture is very good and having minimal wear. This is a wonderful artistic depiction of the Madonna-Virgin Mary.
