A 19th Century advertising men's hankerchief cardboard box with stunning images of young women or maidens. The box features a triangular view of two young women in a meadow, against the blue sky and wispy clouds. The scene is idyllic with a garland of yellow flowers. The exterior of the box is embellished with a metallic fringe, blue and yellow velvet triangles and a marbleized pink and white edge. On the side of the box it reads, Men's Initial Hkfs., Made In Ireland and Siegel Cooper & Co., New York Chicago. The inside of the box contains a paper lace and a strawberry decal which reads, Loving Esteem. On the back it is dated, Dec. 25, 1896, To: Mr. Young, From: Mrs. Nute, With Compliments and Best Wishes. The condition of this item is very good, with only minor wear. It measures approx. 9 1/4" length, 6 1/4" width and 1 1/8 height.
