This is an antique aesthetic transferware mug of Tom and Jerry which was made in England during the 19th century. It has a wonderful appeal, with birds and herons among large reeds, colorfully decorated in a waterway scene. Inside the rim of the mug, there are flowers and small birds depicted in flight.
There is some wear to this item, one flea bite on the edge, some minor wear and dust specks. On the edge of the handle there is an indent, but I believe that this made when it was initially created.
It has a marked stamped on the base which is the letter R, an English register mark.
Dimensions: It measures approx 3" in height and 4" length including the handle.
