The maker of the pendant on this necklace is the famous Federico Jimenez. The pendant is an older piece of his renowned jewelry, c1970. The pendant has a renaissance revival look hanging on one of three strands of garnets and pearls. It is sterling silver with peridot, garnets and pearls. The large gold and brown stones are faceted art glass. The pearl and garnet strands are not original to this pendant but they look amazing with it. Someone obviously wanted to showcase this beautiful pendant and put it with these three strands. The pendant measures just over 1-3/4" wide and 1-1/2" tall. The garnet strand of beads is 29". The pearls are freshwater and one strand is 29" and the other is 31". The pearls are 6mm-7mm. The strands have been connected together with a ring to keep them in line. The clasp on the garnet strand is no longer operational. The pendant is signed with Federico's marker's mark and hallmarked sterling. This necklace has a beautiful presentation.
Federico Jimenez has been making jewelry for decades. He is from Oaxaca Mexico. He now lives in California. These older pieces are highly sought after by collectors. His earrings sell for hundreds of dollars but I have never seen a pendant! This is a true found treasure.
