Lovely Sterling and parcel gilt Jelly Server/spoon by Whiting in the popular "Lily" pattern, displaying the old stamps/marks. You can really tell the difference between these old mark pieces and later re-strikes- the detail is amazing-on both front and back of the pieces. This very detailed serving spoon is 6 inches long and weighs 36 grams; The gilt bowl is beautifully fluted, and measures 2 1/4 inches x 2 inches-this somewhat larger bowl size being the difference between this piece and the sugar shell/spoons, which have a smaller bowl size-although in reality, these pieces can be and are being re-purposed to serve anything requiring a spoon. The handle has the lily motif in great detail on both the front and reverse of the piece. The front cartouche has what appears to be an "At" in script, with a "J" immediately below. The reverse handle displays the Whiting stamp, STERLING, and Pat. and Reg. dates of 1902. Condition is excellent, with the only issue being some loss of the gilding of the bowl; detail remains nicely intact. This sterling server would make a lovely gift or addition to you table or sterling service.
