Beautiful large Edwardian era English Sterling Heart Shaped Easel back Vanity/Dressing table top mirror, circa 1907. This antique beauty is classic English Edwardian style-scrolls, shells and swirls-all done in lovely fretwork and mounted onto a dark blue felt wood heart shaped mounting. The piece measures 13 1/2 inches tall and is 12 inches at it's widest point. The original beveled mirror-also heart shaped- is 8 inches by 6 3/4 inches. Hallmarks are for Birmingham, 1907, Henry Matthews, maker. Substantial overall weight at almost 41 ounces. Only flaws are a slight loss of silvering in the mirror, and a small tear in the felt back at the easel joint, which has been reinforced. Cartouche at the mirror top is blank-awaiting your monogram. A stunning piece that would grace any vanity or table top; could also be easily converted to a wall mirror if desired.
