This porcelain “knick-knack” is from Kyle’s first collection that started in 1952 with his grandmother’s gift of a ducky figurine. After all, he was her “little ducky.” The collection grew over the next decade with more gifts and personal purchases. Most of these nice vintage pieces were made in Japan. Also, many of these have a “K” written on the bottom in black marker, put there by his mother when she packed the collection up some 40 years ago. They are ready for the next generation to be collected and enjoyed. Most examples are perfect or near perfect.
I know bears don’t usually travel in groups but perhaps this is the family from “Goldilocks.” Two are flocked china with one having a sticker “Thrifco Ceramics – Made in Japan.” The “baby” is a pressed wood compo fellow made as a charm. They are 2”, 1 ½” and 7/8” tall. Unbearably cute!
