We offer here two charming candy dishes. The porcelain example is in the “Blue Paisley” pattern made for Lefton China in the 1960s. It is well marked on the bottom. The other piece is Japanese Satsuma pottery with nice hand-painted floral decoration. Satsuma is a creamy colored ware with a very finely crackled glaze and this piece dates from the early 20th century. Although it is lightly stained it hardly shows through the detailed design. The Lefton dish is 6 ½ x 5 ½”, 1 ½” tall; the Satsuma dish is 6 x 4 3/8”, 1 1/8” tall.
