Trying to track down this pattern was a real challenge! After going through many references I finally found what appears to be the pattern in Kamm Book Six. She named it “Lens and Block.” I’ve never run across this design so it must be scarce. This piece appears to be an open sugar bowl since there is no interior rim to support a cover and the scallops around the top show no signs of wear. It is fine quality heavy non-flint glass typical of the 1865-75 era. It’s a sparking, substantial piece of pattern glass and stands 5 7/8 inches tall.
