This heavy and beautifully engraved example of a Victorian buckle has extremely intricate workmanship. The floral detail and poetry in which the design is executed shows the craftsmanship of the period. The flower, thistle and clover combination surely has Scottish roots. The buckle measures 3 1/2" across at its widest and 3' at its tallest. The buckle has touch marks on the back (probably Scottish) but I am unable to see them clearly.
