All Antique and Vintage Rosaries that I list come from my private collection.

They are genuine antiques – older than 100 years – or genuine vintages – from 30 to 100 years old.

All are in perfect condition and still very much usable. They are unique and a real pleasure to collect or still use.

The item in this listing has the following characteristics:

1) 5.5 mm average dia. Vintage Glass (?) Bloodstone beads for the Ave Marias and 6.5 mm for the Pater Nosters.
At first look these beads appear to be bloodstone but a closer inspection reveals they are glass imitating bloodstone, but made so well that one may be mistaken. The beads are definitely hand made in view of the small variations in size and shape. In fact this high quality, perfectly crafted art glass is today much rarer than genuine bloodstone.

2) All Metal Parts of the rosary are sterling silver.

3) Round similar beads for Pater Nosters separated by a chain, size 6.5 mm

4) Very beautiful Sterling silver Cross 32 X 2o mm and assorted center of same material in typical art nouveau style. Both cross and center bear sterling hallmarks.

The rosary is in a pristine condition

5. The rosary is sold with an Art Nouveau Sterling Silver Mesh pouch. The pouch is stamped with the French Silver hallmark of the Boar -( on the sides of the purse)
The design on the pouch is clearly Art Nouveau. Hanged on the pouch is a first communion cross medal - also hallmarked.

6. Total length of the rosary is : 38 cm - 15.2 in . It will not go over the head to be worn -- its weight is 15 grams

7. The Sterling mesh purse/pouch weighs a heavy 25.5 grams . It is is pristine condition and has two compartments.

This is an exquisite item ideal for keeping a rosary constantly by your side and can be also used as a small change purse . Very rare to find.
