Presented here is an early 20th Century medal of Mary as Lady of Mount Carmel. It is typical : Mary and Child Crowned and Jesus holding a Scapular. It is hand painted on porcelain, then Kiln fired, Enameled and inserted in an 18 k gold frame.
Origin is very probably from Spain.
It is two sided : on the obverse Our Lady of Mount Carmel and on the reverse written in Spanish : Nra Sra del Carmen
The hand work is extremely very fine.
The medal is in pristine condition and it is sold WITHOUT the chain in the picture.
The frame is in 18 K. Gold. Not Hallmarked, testing indicated 18 K .
It is a very fine, highly rare and extremely nice item to wear.
Dimensions of the medal are : 26 x 18 mm or 1.04 x 0.72 in. ( excluding bail)
