All Antique and Vintage Rosaries that I list come from my private collection. They are genuine antiques – older than 100 years – or genuine vintages – from 30 to 100 years old. All are in perfect condition and still very much usable. They are unique and a real pleasure to collect or still use.

The item in this listing has the following characteristics:

The rosary and its Shell Spiral shaped box are made in France in the early 1900's. It is an item very rarely seen and in pristine condition.

1. 5 mm Vintage Mother of Pearl beads for the Ave Marias and 6 mm for the Pater Nosters

2. All Metal Parts are Sterling Silver : chain, beads, cross, as well as metal parts of the box.

4. The cross in Mother of Pearl and silver is 32 x 19 mm ( 1.2 x 0.7 in). It is exquisite and with fine details - very rare for such a size.

5. The rosary is sold with its box which is made out of a rare spiraling shell . The thinner end is covered with a Sterling cap which allows hanging and the wider side is closed with a sterling piece. This a unique box and rarely seen item.

6. It was very fashionable in the first part of the 20th century to make rosary boxes with various types of shells. Very few have survived until today and become items very highly sough after, especially ones with strange forms like this one.

7. Total length of the rosary : 39 cm.
