The town of Mauchline in South West Scotland gives its name to a family of wooden souvenirs made over a period of some one hundred years ending when the factory of the last producer still operating burnt to the ground in 1933.
This piece of Mauchline Ware is in the form of a Cribbage Board. It has the Bunker Hill Monument view (Charlestown MA) and says it is 221 feet high. The board measures 10" x 3". There are brass covers on the ends where the pegs are to be stored. There are no pegs. The back has Moroccan paper which is now a bit worn around the edges. The board shows some section lines. There are no breaks, chips, or cracks.
