Here is a beautiful doll figurine hand crafted by Fenton Art Glass in Key Lime Satin glass. This was a new mould created in 2009 by Suzi Whitaker and all pieces made that year are marked with "First Edition" on the under side of the skirt. This doll is retired, as is all Fenton Glass.
This doll has the First Edition mark along with the Fenton USA mark incised on the edge of the skirt. The floral design is hand painted by T J Mendenhall, and she has signed the bottom.
The doll figurine is named for Ellie Ash, daughter of Shelley Fenton Ash, and great-granddaughter of company founder Frank L. Fenton.
Key Lime glass was a fairly new color for Fenton, and there is something in the chemical formula for this glass treatment that makes it glow under an ultraviolet light (black light). This doll figure does glow under a black light.
This lovely example of art glass is referenced in "Fenton Art Glass: A Centennial of Glass Making 1907-2007 and Beyond", 2nd Edition, by Debbie and Randy Coe.
This doll figurine is in perfect condition, no chips or cracks, first quality glass, from the inventory of a closed store. The oval silver Fenton sticker is attached to the side. It has never been displayed, and will come in the original Fenton Glass box, along with a descriptive card.
