This Harmony Kingdom Treasure Jest features a pair of crocodiles resting leisurely in their boat with a zebra leg as a paddle, having finished a large meal. Litter around and inside the boat provides clues to the morsels that have just eaten. Carved by Harmony Kingdom artist, Peter Calvesbert, this box figurine has so many details ... this is one of Harmony Kingdom's best!
This is Version One, as shown by the number "1" on the base. Inside of Version 1 you will find a peace sign, fish skeletons, footprints of a wading bird, and a hamburger box with "M" inscribed on it. After being contacted by McDonalds, the "M" inside Version One was changed to "HK" due to potential trademark confusion. Coincidentally, the name of the Treasure Jest is not unlike the name of McDonalds founder, Ray Kroc.
This Version One was released in January 1998 & was retired a few months later. Peter's signature mouse is hiding near the boat's missing rudder.
Harmony Kingdom boxes are hand crafted, using marble resin, from original carvings. Then each is hand painted and tinted for a one-of-a-kind figurine. The boxes are hand painted by citizens of the rural English countryside of the South Cotswolds. There are differences in colorations on each piece.
This retired Treasure Jest is in perfect condition, from the inventory of a closed store, and it will come in the original Harmony Kingdom green box with brochure. This popular collectible is referenced in "The Harmony Kingdom Reference Guide" by Leanna Barron (2002), page 48.
