Here is a beautiful sterling silver Native American Navajo belt buckle that dates to the early 1970s. It is obviously hand crafted, as you can see tiny dings in the silver as the craftsman created it. The design is done with turquoise and coral chip inlay, and appears to be a bird flying over mountain tops.
There is not a makers mark on the buckle. It is in good condition, but does show signs of being worn, because of tiny scratches in the metal.
Silver is difficult to photograph because of the reflections; this buckle is much prettier in person. I had to photograph it in a light tent to prevent glare. Although it looks like there is tarnish in places, it really is very shiny and polished. The tarnished looking areas are more shadows than anything else.
