Carved by Harmony Kingdom artist, Peter Calvesbert, this humorous Treasure Jest features Titan the tortoise who is celebrating his 150th birthday, by blowing out a large amount of candles on a cake. Peter's signature mouse is peeking out near the birthday card. When the lid is removed, the interior is shaped like a bassinet and features the space probe Cassini. Peter was inspired by the scientific mission to Saturn, and Version 1 has the date and time that the space probe will reach Saturn: 8:30 July 1 2004.
There were several versions made of this particular box, and this is Version One, as shown by the number "1" on the base in the group of hallmarks which include the copyright mark, a heart, the HBC logo, the edition #, and Pc (for Peter Calvesbert). Also, Peter wanted to shake up the collectors by putting different items under the table. Boxes were made with a cigarette lighter, a screw, or a partial screw. This box has a full screw under the table.
As is customary with Harmony Kingdom boxes, there are all kinds of inscriptions and secrets hidden throughout the box. It is fun to turn the box around and look for the various secrets. "Wishful Thinking" was released in January 1998 and was retired in September 1999. The label on the bottom of the box shows it was made in England.
Harmony Kingdom boxes are hand crafted, using marble resin, from original carvings. Then each is hand painted and tinted for a one-of-a-kind figurine. The boxes are hand painted by citizens of the rural English countryside of the South Cotswolds. There are differences in colorations on each piece.
This Treasure Jest is in perfect condition, from the inventory of a closed store, and it will come in the original Harmony Kingdom green box with brochure. We will include some small brochures with information on Harmony Kingdom.
