Here is a 1997 Limited Edition "Santa" Ornament by Rowe Pottery Works, that is displayed on a wooden stand. The traditional salt glaze ornament has a Santa face on one side and the wording "Merry Christmas 1997" on the other side. On the top of the ornament is a brass loop with a maroon cord. Near the bottom of the ornament is the Rowe incised mark of "RPW" in an oval, along with the decorator's mark. The decorator is Cheri Trick.
The ornament is round and difficult to measure, but it is almost 4 inches in diameter.
The wooden stand shows off the ornament so well, and is very sturdy. The bottom has felt pads and measures 4.5 inches diameter. The stand is 6.5 inches high.
The ornament has a tiny "air bubble pop" in the area near the top of Santa's head; this is not an imperfection but is common in hand crafted pottery. The ornament is in like new condition, and was only displayed in an enclosed case.
The Rowe Pottery company has changed ownership a few times since 2003, but this ornament was made when Jim Rowe still owned the business. The early days of Rowe showed much creativity.
