Highly prized and sought after by kings, emperors, maharajas and sultans, the majestic Opal has been desired throughout the ages. From our estate collection: A magnificent begging-of-the-century Early Art Deco Black Australian Opal and Diamond Platinum Fashion ring .

This prong set black opal is 100% real and solid stone, displays electric play of color in a oval/cushion shape, measuring approx. 13.00 x 7.05x 3.02 mm and estimated to weight 2.5ct.

The confetti like pattern with all the colors of the rainbow: blue, yellow, sunset orange, neon green, purple and red, lots of red - depending on how the flashes of colors are viewed from different angles caused by the light that is infused into the stone.. No black dead spots or No gemological evidence of crazing is present, not a doublet, not backed with any other color, all natural and has lots of fire! Brightness is 4 out 5 and Body tone - 2N

A delightful piece for an avid opal collector and antique lover.

The Black opal, radiates from an almost equally stunning original platinum and diamond Art Deco mounting, it is framed top and bottom with 32 old mine, old European, and round single cut diamonds weighing approximately 0.95 carat total and F-G-H Color, VS-SI clarity overall, Very White and Eye Clear, unusually High Quality for that period! The diamonds artfully set in fanciful geometric settings. A truly spectacular and impressive Jazz Age jewel. The total weight of the Gems is approx. 3.45ctw.

The Platinum ( tested) ring shows a gorgeous detailing, cutouts and hand engraving is true to the times! The ring measures approx 16.5mm long. The height of the ring is 6.12 mm The band tapers from 3.77mm to 1.7mm. The weight of the ring is 4.42 dwts. (6.9 grams), nice and solid. The finger size is 4 3/4(sizable).

Given the ring's age and condition ( just very minor sign of wear on the mount), we think that it was staying in one family without being sold and re-sold., Some very professionally small repair has been noticed on the prongs, all gems are present, seem original, and securely set. *** Since we list antique and vintage items we try to make sure to identify any issues. However please go over the photos so you can assess any wear issues that would matter to you personally. Please note: gemstones may vary slightly in color tones from one computer to another. All gemstones and diamond weight is approximate to preserve integrity of the setting unless otherwise stated.

This ring is perfect to cherish forever!!!
