This is a fabulous and rare piece of Victorian silver! It is a massive 12 1/2" long sterling crumber in the Rosette pattern by Whiting. This generous sized piece would also be handy for serving many types of foods. This is an elegant Ivy pattern. The large blade is fantastic and features fancy engravings. I also love the shape of this blade. It has what appears to be a stylized bee or butterfly on the edge. The handle has been engraved with a name. This name has been almost completely polished off and is not easily readable. This piece is stamped sterling. As is often the case with early silver, there is no maker's mark. There is a ding on the bottom of the blade that does not appear on the top. Otherwise, this piece is in extremely good condition, in need of a thorough hand polishing.
