A superb antique biscuit barrel of octagonal form with Florian transfer printed decoration in blue with red & gilded panels to the neck. The barrel has an electroplated rim, lid and decoratively shaped handle.

The barrel has a printed blue MacIntyre mark, the registration number 314899 and the pattern number 'M 396' to the underside.

William Moorcroft joined the firm of James MacIntyre and Co. in 1897 and worked there until 1912.

~ Dimensions ~

The piece has a height of 7 inches (18 cm). The diameter at the widest point is 6.75 inches (17 cm). The total weight is approx. 1.145 kg.

~ Condition ~

The barrel in good, antique condition with some heavy crazing to the body. The gilding is slightly worn. There are no chips, cracks or signs of restoration.
