~ 1930’s Clarice Cliff Royal Staffordshire The Biarittz Paradise Pattern Dish ~

A lovely early 1930’s Royal Staffordshire, Clarice Cliff dish in the Paradise pattern from the Biarritz range.

The dish is of rectangular form with an oval centre.

It is hand painted with a scene of boats in a bay with buildings in the background and trees and flowers in the foreground.

The dish is backstamped ‘The Biarritz, Royal Staffordshire, Great Britain’ with the registration design no. of ‘784849’ and a pattern number ‘9907’.

There are also impressed marks of a diamond and the number 34.

The design registry number dates the piece to 1933-34, so presumably the impressed ‘34’ actually denotes the year date.

~ Dimensions ~

The dish measures 26.5 cm (10 ½ inches) by 19cm (7 ½ inches) with a depth of 5cm (2 inches).

It weighs 665g.

~ Condition ~

The dish is in a very good condition with no chips, cracks or restoration and only very minimal wear.
