Ready to take them all by storm? You won’t need anything more than this luscious little beauty on your wrist! Every eye will be on you when you raise your glass for that all-important toast, and you’ll feel like the belle you are when twining your arms round your date’s for a dance. Some pieces do have that kind of magic, and this American-made bracelet has that ‘50s glamour in spades! The simple gold base with a matte finish is perfect for the lovely golden maple leaf pattern. All this would be very little however without the rich opals which alternate between! Rich in blue and green fire, they all have undertones and flashes of red as well, being lively and beautiful in person. Charming and elegant, this is a vintage piece that doesn’t feel dated but instead always ready to be new again, to be worn again.
*It can be very difficult to really show the beauty of opals, which, after all, depend on movement and light, in simple photographs, so I have posted a brief clip of this bracelet on YouTube so that you can truly see the play of light on the opals. The link is available under “Our Favorite Links” on the Red Swallow Main Page.
Condition: Excellent vintage condition. No eye visible damage to the front or back of the piece, very minor, age-appropriate surface scratches are visible under a loupe. This does apply to the opals, which are in excellent condition considering their age, there are no chips, cracks, or crazing. The bracelet is stamped for 10kt gold purity and the BB maker’s mark for Binder’s Bros. Inc, operating out of New York City since 1922. The opals are 5.7-5.78mm rounds, and the links are each 7/8” long and just shy of ½” wide, making the whole bracelet just over 7” long.
