This beautiful vintage bolo tie depicting a duck in flight was created by Elliot Qualo. He represents the very best of skilled Zuni craftsmen and this piece is a fine example of his early work. The smoothly set inlay is turquoise, mother of pearl, coral and shell and is set in silver with hand hammered trim. The bolo measures 2" by 2 ¼" and the braided leather measures 19" in length. The weight is 40.7 grams.

Elliot Qualo was an important Zuni artist during his fairly short but outstanding career. He was born in 1930 and worked until 1979. He was a master at working with inlay stones, creating intricate and original pieces such as this one. His work is very collectible.
