Well known jewelry artist Charles Supplee has designed a wonderful sterling silver set consisting of a belt buckle (3" by 2 ¼") and a bolo tie (2" by 2 ¼"). These pieces depict a classic south western symbol, the scorpion! The turquoise is gem Dry Creek turquoise and on the upturned tail is deep red/orange coral. The bolo tips are sterling silver also. The belt buckle can accommodate a 2" wide belt.
Charles Supplee's mother is Hopi and his father is French. He was trained by his father and has mastered the art of jewelry making so today his work is extremely sought after. His style is contemporary with clean lines and wonderful colors. This set is from a private collection and is in very good condition. Please note that the camera has caused some shadows on the smooth silver which are not present in real time.
