This fruit bowl set is stunning! The three footed bowl stands 3" in height with a rim diameter of 8 1/2". The fruit bowl was made by Tressemann & Vogt Limoges France and signed and dated, Helen M. Haines 1905. In 1886 Vogt opened a decorating studio in New York. The studio closed in 1932. The fruit bowl has a soft cream colored outside with bright red grapes hanging from their lush green leafy vines against a lighter red background accented with a gold rim. The inside of the bowl is bone white with a dark red curly design with a lighter red background. The three footed base is accented in gold.
The five serving bowls are made by GDA (Gerald, Dufraisseix & Abbot) Limoges, France. In 1900 Edger Abbot, who had been a partner in CFH's (Charles Field Haviland) import firm from 1886 became partner in what was renamed Gerald, Dufraisseix & Abbot Limoges opening a Paris branch in 1902. In the 1920"s GDA purchased Haviland & Co. The serving bowls are 1" in height with a 4 1/4" rim diameter. Each bowl is signed by the artist, Haines and dated 1906. The outside of each bowl is a matching soft cream color accented with a gold rim. The inside of the bowls are designed with the matching bright red grapes hanging from their lush leaves with a lighter red background. The inside of each bowl is a bone white.
