This coin purse looks similar to a "Tam O' Shanter" only smaller, this type of coin purse would be the precursor to the "Tam O' Shanter". This Sovereign purse only holds a few coins and the beads are sewn around the outside of the fabric or it may possibly be an animal hide. The catch to open and close the purse is in good working order. The inside cover is shiny perhaps used as a mirror, but would only reflect an obscure image. The outside cover has a design of old silver tone coins. The date is stamped on the inside near the catch and is dated Mar. 25, 90. The inside opening is 2" in diameter. The back side is about 2 1/2" in diameter.
The coin purse has some bead loss on the outside fold areas. For its age it is in pretty good shape, but not showroom new looking. It is a great collector's Piece.
