This is a very lovely example of a glass beaded purse from the 1920's or 1930's. The upper part of the purse body consists of tightly connected small glass beads. The main purse body is made of larger floating tubular glass beads. The upper fringe is of small glass beading. The bottom fringe is the same with larger tubular beading on the bottom end. The clear beads sparkle in the light and reflect an iridescent rainbow of colors.
The metal measures 6" across. From the top of the frame to the bottom of the purse body is 5 1/2". The pouch measures 7" across when laid flat. The lower fringe dangles 1 3/8". The chain is 12 1/2" in length. The pink lining is intact with no tears. The original stitching shows no tears or missing stitches. I can find no missing beads anywhere on the purse. The purse remains exceptionally intact for an item of this age which has no doubt seen a few parties and gala events.
