These lovely antique heraldic coat of arms plates are a set of 3 wedding plates. The diameter of the plates is 9". They were imported by The Ovington Brothers Company, Brooklyn, NY. They imported porcelain from France, Germany, and England. The plates are part of a wedding set with custom monogram and family crests. The style of porcelain indicates they were made in Germany. The last names on the front of the plates are Dutch in origin.
The name Torvart and Sicuonec, or Sicuonec are displayed on the front of the plate. The floral design is very bright and colorful. The family crests have bright gold in them, which does not show up very well in the photos. The rims are cobalt blue with a gold design. The plates date to 1890.
