This item was purchased from an estate of a collector. The bowl or nappy was made by James Jamieson and Company., Scotland. It is an early piece during the Jamieson era which dates from 1828. The company started to mark their wares as Bo'ness Pottery; the pottery Industry of Borrowstounness. The pattern is called Forth. The design is a transfer print pattern. I am amazed that the gold is still in good condition on the handle. The bowl is 1 1/4" in height with a rim diameter of 6". The bowl has darkened with age. This item has no chips or cracks.
