This gorgeous set of 6 plates was made by Richard Ginori, Italia. They were produced for Marshall Field and Company, Chicago. The rims are gold encrusted pattern. This set is in good condition with no chips or cracks. The plates date early 1900's until 1930's. This item is in good condition with no chips or cracks.
The Doccia porcelain factory was founded by Carlo Ginori in 1735. The company remained in the hands of Ginori heirs until 1896, when it was incorporated with Richard of Milan, a large manufacturer of porcelain. It was then named Richard Ginori. It was known as the Ferrari of porcelain. The firm was declared bankrupt in January, 2013. In April 2013, it was acquired by Gucci for $16.8 million dollars.
