This lovely set of 9 - 8 3/4" plates were made by the Brown-Westhead Moore & Company. This set was made for Spaulding & Company, Chicago, which at this time was as prestigious as Tiffany & Company in New York. The leaf pattern is red accented in heavy gold. Pink roses with green leaves are centered between the leaf pattern. At the bottom of the leaf motif is a gold scallop leaf trim. The plates date from 1890 until 1904. The plates are in good condition with these exceptions: 1 back chip (can't be seen from the front), some minor gold loss on one plate and pattern wear of the scalloped gold leaf trim on all the plates. See last two photos.

Brown-Westhead Moore and Company worked from 1862 to 1904. About 1890, this firm started using the words Cauldon as part of their mark. Cauldon Ltd. worked from 1905 to 1920, After 1962 the company was called Coalport, a part of the Wedgwood group. Additional photos are available upon request.
