A lot of thought went into the design of these well made and handsome bronze light fixtures. You will see a stylized version of the thistle flower with its prickly leaves and on each candle holder, a version of the Scottish shield.. You can also see the typical hammered touches used in Tudor and Arts & Craft design. There is such attention to detail that even the back plate, which is seldom seen, has a hammered finish.
These were not made in England but in Kansas City, Missouri, by the Mid-west Chandelier Co., c. 1920's. (And you don't have to be a Scot to purchase them.) They're bronze so they still look great, this version of them having an overlay of smooth, dark copper on the raised portions of the design.
Condition is great, professionally rewired. Measurements are 12 3/4" high x 8" wide by only 3" deep, without the bulbs. We will include the long-life bulbs free of charge if you like them. Candle covers can be changed. We have a brass version of these sconces listed in S-1230.
We adjust your shipping cost if you order more than one.
