Paolo Soleri (1919-2013 ) was an architect, writer, thinker, philosopher, artist and visionary. Known for his fabulous windbell sculptures which he started making in the 1960's when he moved from Italy to Arizona. This is one of his early ones from the 1970s made of bronze with it's natural patina. It measures 36" from top hanging loop to bottom of the 11" fin. The base of the bell measure 7+". His early bells were individually hand crafted and no two are alike. Today the skilled artisans still design each one so that no two are alike.

This is one of his larger windbells characterized by it classic bell form and strong clear ringtone. This windbell's radiant mid-octave sound, large size and distinctive diamond fin make it a favorite among collectors.

Note: When he was in his twenties, he spent a year as an apprentice for Frank Lloyd Wright at Taliesin West, returned to Italy for several years made his way back and settled in Arizona.

The condition is very good and has a wonderful sound, a great original sculpture
for any collector.
