Vintage Silver Quadruple Plate Floral Embossed Teapot with Decorative Finial.
2 Bands of trailing flowers grace the bottom half of the teapot, above which sits a leafy floral trailing design. The banded flower theme is carried through on the bend of the spout and at both ends of the handle.
This is a nicely sized 6 cup teapot, measuring 9" from base to the top of the finial and 10.5" handle to spout. Interior strainer at spout.
The overall fading to the silver plate gives it a wonderful pewter look.
Marked Morgan Silver Co. Quadruple Plate, "200" and "7". There were two Morgan Silver Companies, both began in the late 1800's with one in Boston (1882 -1892) and one in Winsted, CT. This teapot is from Morgan Silver of Winsted, CT. Founded in 1890, they ceased operations in the 1930's. My opinion is that this piece is from the earlier part of those years.
