These beautiful plates are from Cauldon Works, Stoke on Trent and date from 1895 to 1905. Cauldon Works was founded in 1802 by Job Ridgway. The factory ownership was formed and reformed throughout the years which makes dating these pieces a little more precise than most. The one plate(pic #4) is dated to the 1895-1904 time period with red crown and cauldon ware, not visible with camera view is the recessed marking of Brown, Westhead and Moore, the other plate, while identical, is Cauldon Place England(pic #5) and must have been purchased during their manufacturing changeover in 1904 and 1905....see back markings on plates. For methods of dating these pieces, please feel free to contact me for reference links.
The Iris are just gorgeous in shades of pale pink and pale green with touches of gold. Gold trim is also evident around the plates edge but has faded with time.
There are no chips or cracks and they are in excellent condition. Each plate measures 8.5" in diameter.
