Victorian Pink and Silver Floral Valentine's Day Card with Silk Cord and Dimensional Paper Lace.
Pink leaves and morning glories fill the front of the card, with the layered paper lace surrounding cupid ( or a cherub )with a mandolin. I normally don't pick up paper items, but this was just too pretty to pass up! The inside reads as follows:
Since Cupid's Dart Did Fly
As lightly as a bird on wing Soars thro' the sunny air, As brightly as the flowers in spring, But into blossoms fair, My heart was gay, tiff that wee thing Love's arrow tighted there. And keen the blow and fierce the smart I've suffered from that small dart.
A beautiful piece to frame, measuring 9 1/2" by 6 1/4". Excellent condition with some very slight yellowing to the inside and one bended corner.
The back of the card reads, "For Uncle George, from Edward Sherring"
