Vintage 1950s Mexican Sterling Silver and Abalone Signed Wide Panel Bracelet.
I absolutely love this bracelet and if it was a little bigger, it probably would have never made it to this page! Thin rows (3mm) of inlaid abalone set in sterling, comprise this 1" (26mm) wide bracelet. Marked with the delineated Eagle mark 1 that designates it to a time period between 1948 and 1955 with a location of Mexico City. 925, Sterling and Mexico marks are also present, along with a maker's mark of NA.
To find a bracelet like this with all of the abalone present, especially with such thin strips, is a rarity. There is one strip on the left end panel, 1 row up that has had the abalone re-glued (not by me and not recently). The strip was not set in evenly and only upon close inspection will you notice the slight variation. Please zoom in to the left end of the third photo at right. The locking slide clasp is completely secure and there are no other flaws to the bracelet.
Bracelet measures 6 7/8" with a weight of 25 grams.
A wonderful piece in every way!
